Your First Chiropractic Visit

Here is an informative article from the ACA, describing a typical first visit procedure for a new patient. Because of the wide variety of health conditions that can result in somatic pain patterns (i.e. pain in the back, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, etc.) a chiropractor has extensive training in diagnostics, and can refer patients to other healthcare professionals when necessary. The training a chiropractor receives in diagnosing spinal and other articular neuromuscular dysfunction is truely unique and developed over years of training and experience.

The importance of gathering a complete patient history regarding the chief complaint is of utmost importance, and all treatments are geared towards addressing the patient's presenting condition. Sometimes the underlying cause of the condition is not immediately obvious and this is where the skill of the practitioner is important. At WellPro Chiropractic we apply various diagnostic methods to evaluate imbalances in function that will help us provide the safest and most effective treatments leading towards a patient's recovery and health. For instance, we may take measurements that would indicate imbalances in energetic and/or neuromuscular function, indicating which areas to treat. Besides traditional chiropractic treatments, acupuncture is also available. Acupuncture can be applied without the use of needles, via microcurrent.
